Scientific name: Coelogorgiidae
Coelogorgiidae is a family of soft corals known for their tree-like appearance and colorful polyps. Members of this family are non-reef building corals that are often found in deeper waters. They are filter feeders, capturing plankton and organic matter from the water column. In the aquarium, they require moderate to low flow and lighting conditions. They are not as commonly kept as some other soft corals, but can be a unique and interesting addition to a deep-water biotope or lower light reef tank.
