Reeflings

Common name: Tube Anemones

Scientific name: Arachnactidae

Arachnactidae, commonly known as Tube Anemones, are a family of sedentary polyps found in marine environments. Unlike reef-building anemones, they secrete and live within a fibrous tube buried in the substrate. Tube Anemones are known for their long, slender tentacles and striking fluorescent colors, which can add a unique aesthetic to a reef aquarium. They are nocturnal and often extend their tentacles at night to feed. In the aquarium, they require fine sand or mud substrates to anchor their tubes and prefer low to moderate water flow. They can be fed with small planktonic foods or finely chopped seafood.
