Common name: Feather Star

Scientific name: Comasteridae

Comasteridae, commonly known as Feather Stars or Crinoids, are a family of marine invertebrates characterized by their feather-like arms which they use for suspension feeding. They are found in a variety of colors and can add a unique aesthetic to a reef tank. Feather Stars are relatively hardy but require moderate to strong water flow and access to suspended particulate food. They are fascinating to observe as they use their arms to capture food and can also move around the aquarium.
