Common name: Dragonets

Scientific name: Pegasidae

The Pegasidae family, commonly known as Sea Moths or Dragonets, includes small, distinctively shaped fish that are well-suited for peaceful reef aquariums. They are benthic creatures, often found perching on or searching for food within the substrate. Their diet primarily consists of small invertebrates, making them beneficial for controlling pest populations. Sea Moths are known for their unique, almost prehistoric appearance, with large pectoral fins that resemble wings, contributing to their dragon-like aesthetic. They require a well-established tank with plenty of live rock and a sandy bottom to thrive.
