Common name: Peppermint Shrimp

Dasycaris is a genus of shrimp known in the aquarium trade as Peppermint Shrimp, popular for their ability to control pest anemones like Aiptasia. These shrimp are nocturnal and prefer to hide during the day. They are peaceful and can be kept with a variety of tank mates. In the wild, they are found in the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean. They exhibit fascinating cleaning behavior, often forming symbiotic relationships with fish by removing parasites and dead skin.
