Gonodactylus, commonly known as Mantis Shrimp or Thumb Splitter, is a genus of stomatopods known for their complex eyes and powerful raptorial appendages used for hunting. They exhibit fascinating behaviors and are a vibrant addition to a species-only aquarium due to their aggressive nature. Hobbyists should provide a sandy substrate and plenty of hiding places. They are not reef safe as they can harm other tank inhabitants.
