Muricella is a genus of gorgonian sea fans known for their intricate branching patterns and vibrant colors, often found in deeper waters of the Indo-Pacific. They are symbiotic with photosynthetic algae, which can provide some of their nutritional needs, but they also benefit from supplemental feeding of planktonic foods.
