Negaprion is a genus of sharks in the family Carcharhinidae, commonly known as Lemon Sharks, named for their yellow-brown skin which helps them blend into the sandy tropical waters they inhabit. These sharks are known for their relatively docile nature and are a popular subject of marine research due to their tendency to return to the same breeding sites. In the aquarium trade, they are not common due to their large size and the complexity of their care. They require very large tanks with ample space to swim and a diet that mimics their natural prey, including fish and crustaceans.
