Genus

Common name: Sweeper Fish

Scientific name: Pempheris

Pempheris is a genus of fish commonly known as sweepers or glassfish, found in tropical and subtropical oceans worldwide. These small, nocturnal fish are known for their schooling behavior and shimmering appearance due to their reflective bodies. They often inhabit caves and overhangs during the day, emerging at night to feed on plankton. In the aquarium, they require dim lighting and plenty of hiding places to mimic their natural environment. Sweepers are peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive species.
