Common name: Fusilier Fishes

Pterocaesio is a genus of marine fish known as Fusilier Fishes, belonging to the family Caesionidae. These vibrant and active swimmers are often found in large schools around coral reefs, where they feed on plankton. Their elongated bodies and forked tails are adapted for speed, making them excellent at evading predators. In the aquarium, they require ample swimming space and a diet rich in zooplankton or high-quality flake and pellet foods designed for marine fish. They are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other reef-safe species.
