Genus

Common name: Feather Duster Worm

Scientific name: Sabella

Sabella is a genus of marine polychaete worms known for their ornate, feathery crowns which are used for filter feeding. These worms are popular in the reefkeeping hobby for their striking appearance and their role in nutrient export by consuming particulate matter in the water column. They are generally peaceful and can coexist with a variety of tank mates. Sabella species are tube-dwellers, constructing a mucous tube to protect their delicate bodies. They require moderate water flow and good water quality to thrive.
