Trapezia crabs are a genus of small, brightly colored crabs known for their symbiotic relationship with Pocillopora, a type of branching stony coral. They protect the coral from predators such as the crown-of-thorns starfish and in return, receive shelter and food in the form of mucus and detritus. These crabs are popular in reef aquariums for their beneficial role and are generally peaceful, making them good tank mates for a variety of reef inhabitants.
