Care

Masked Gobies are relatively easy to care for. They thrive in well-established aquariums with plenty of live rock for hiding and foraging. They are not aggressive and can be kept with a variety of other peaceful fish and invertebrates. A varied diet of small meaty foods like brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood will help maintain their health.

Reproduction

In the wild, Masked Gobies are known to spawn throughout the year, laying eggs in crevices or under ledges. In the aquarium, they may spawn if they are kept in a peaceful environment with a suitable mate. The male typically guards the eggs until they hatch.

Habitat

Coryphopterus alloides is found in the Western Atlantic, from Florida and the Bahamas to Brazil. They inhabit shallow reefs and seagrass beds, often seen hovering above the bottom where they pick at small organisms in the substrate.
