Care
Bubble Tip Anemones require stable aquarium conditions with good water quality, moderate to strong lighting, and moderate water flow. They host photosynthetic algae known as zooxanthellae, which provide them with nutrients through photosynthesis, but they also benefit from occasional feedings of meaty foods like shrimp or fish.
Reproduction
In the home aquarium, Entacmaea quadricolor can reproduce asexually by pedal laceration or binary fission, where the anemone splits into two individuals. This can be a sign of good health and proper care.
Symbiosis
Bubble Tip Anemones are well-known for their symbiotic relationship with several species of clownfish, including the popular @species:amphiprion-ocellaris and @species:amphiprion-percula. These fish find protection among the anemone's stinging tentacles, and in return, provide the anemone with nutrients from their waste and help with water circulation.
Habitat
Entacmaea quadricolor is found in the Indo-Pacific region, typically in shallow waters on coral reef slopes where it attaches to the substrate or coral rubble. It prefers areas with moderate to strong lighting and water movement.
