Reeflings
Family

Common name: Sea Fans

Scientific name: Gorgoniidae

Gorgoniidae, commonly known as sea fans and gorgonians, are a family of soft corals found in oceans around the world. They are characterized by their tree-like structure and are often brightly colored, adding both aesthetic and biological diversity to reef aquariums. Gorgoniidae are filter feeders and require moderate water flow and lighting to thrive. They host a variety of marine life, including the symbiotic algae, zooxanthellae, which provide them with nutrients through photosynthesis. These corals are relatively hardy but do require stable water conditions and are sensitive to changes in water quality.
