Genus
Common name: Exyrias
Scientific name: Exyrias
Exyrias is a genus of gobies found in marine environments, particularly known for the species Exyrias belissimus, commonly known as the Beautiful Prawn Goby. These small, bottom-dwelling fish are popular in the reef aquarium hobby for their vibrant colors and interesting behaviors. They often form symbiotic relationships with shrimp, sharing burrows and warning each other of danger. Exyrias species are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive tank mates. They require a well-established aquarium with plenty of hiding places and a sandy substrate to mimic their natural habitat.
