Common name: Spaghetti Worms
Scientific name: Terebellida
Terebellida, commonly known as Spaghetti Worms, are a group of marine polychaete worms. They are characterized by their long, slender tentacles that resemble spaghetti, which they use for feeding. These worms are detritivores, consuming organic matter and detritus in the substrate. They are beneficial to reef aquariums as they help maintain a clean sand bed by processing and aerating the substrate. Spaghetti Worms are generally peaceful and can coexist with a variety of tank mates. They are often hidden within the substrate or live rock, extending their tentacles to capture food particles from the water column.
