Dartfish

Dartfish are a captivating group of fish known for their elongated bodies and bright colors. They are generally peaceful and make a great addition to a community reef tank. Dartfish prefer to have hiding places and sandy substrates where they can retreat if frightened. They are jumpers, so a well-fitted tank lid is essential. These fish are carnivorous, feeding on a diet of meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. They are best kept in pairs or small groups in larger tanks to prevent territorial disputes. Gobiodon and Nemateleotris genera are popular among hobbyists, with the Firefish (Nemateleotris magnifica) being a particular favorite due to its vibrant colors and hardy nature.
