Care

Chalice Corals require moderate to high lighting and moderate water flow within the aquarium to thrive. They are photosynthetic but will benefit from supplemental feedings of microplankton or finely minced meaty foods. Care should be taken to place them in an area of the tank where they will not be shaded by other corals as they grow.

Symbiosis

While not known for hosting other organisms like some corals do, Echinophyllia aspera can contribute to the overall health of the reef tank by providing shelter and territory for small invertebrates and fish.

Habitat

Echinophyllia aspera is found in the Indo-Pacific region, typically in shallow reef environments. They are often located on reef slopes or in lagoons, where they can receive ample lighting and water movement.
