Common name: Sand Sifting Sea Stars

The Luidiidae family, commonly known as Sand Sifting or Comb Sea Stars, includes species well-adapted to life on the sandy sea floor. In the aquarium, they can be beneficial by aerating the sand and consuming detritus.
