Common name: Pocilloporidae

Scientific name: Pocilloporidae

The Pocilloporidae family, commonly known as Pocillopora Damselfish, includes several species of small, colorful damselfish that are popular in the reef aquarium hobby. Members of this family are known for their symbiotic relationships with stony corals, particularly those in the genus Pocillopora, from which they derive their name. These fish are territorial and can be aggressive, especially in smaller tanks. They thrive in well-established aquariums with plenty of live rock for shelter and territories.
