Genus

Common name: Tube Anemone

Scientific name: Pachycerianthus

Pachycerianthus is a genus of tube-dwelling anemones known for their long, slender tentacles and striking coloration. Unlike reef-building anemones, they do not host clownfish but can add movement and diversity to a tank. They require stable conditions and a deep sand bed to anchor their tube. They are filter feeders, capturing plankton and small particles from the water column, and should be fed a varied diet of fine particulate foods. They are relatively hardy but should be kept by intermediate to advanced aquarists due to their specific care requirements.
