Genus

Common name: Dascyllus

Scientific name: Dascyllus

Dascyllus is a genus of fish in the family Pomacentridae, commonly known as Domino Damsels or Humbug Damsels. These small, hardy damselfish are popular in the reef aquarium hobby for their striking black and white patterns and active behavior. They are known for their symbiotic relationship with sea anemones, similar to clownfish, although not all species require anemones to thrive. Dascyllus species are generally easy to care for but can be territorial, especially in smaller tanks. They are best kept in groups in larger aquariums with plenty of hiding spaces.
